Love OR Fear: Who’s Side Are You On?

September 8, 2016

For those of you out there who are on-board with the idea that we each create our own reality - my hand’s in the air - you’re probably aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy mindset. Granted, your mindset isn’t the easiest thing in the world to tame, but with practice and patience, it’s definitely do-able.

Mindset is exactly what it sounds like: it’s all about your beliefs and how whatever you’ve ‘set’ your mind to - be it something positive or negative - influences the Life you’re experiencing right now in this very moment. The choice essentially becomes one in which you’re either living from a mindset based on Love or Fear. Let me break it down a bit more . . .

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You’re filled with gratitude for all that you have.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You’re focused on all the things that are missing from your Life.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You forgive the world for its many shortcomings, aware that you alone are responsible for your own happiness.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You think the world, and others, owes you something.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You gladly celebrate other people’s victories.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You harbor resentment for anyone who succeeds.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You embrace all changes, fully aware that change fosters deep personal growth and expansion.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You go to great lengths to avoid any changes that threaten your current lifestyle or belief system.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You strive to see the best in other people.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You focus only on the negative aspects of others.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You accept responsibility for your mistakes, knowing full well that they’re the inevitable steps to personal fulfillment.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You blame others for your mistakes time and time again.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . You cultivate an underlying sense of joy no matter what circumstances Life throws your way.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . You live a Life ruled by anxiety, where fear directs your every move.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Love . . . Each new day becomes something to enjoy and embrace . . . a fresh possibility to become who you’re meant to be.

When you’re living from the Mindset of Fear . . . Each new day becomes something to endure and survive . . . a prison sentence to be served, one grueling day after another.

So as we collectively embark on the many challenges of living a human Life- raising a family, pursuing our dreams, growing old - which Mindset are you going to bring along with you for the ride? The sort that derives its energy by tapping into our fears or the one that knows only gratitude and love for the blessing that is Life itself?

The choice is obvious really . . . assuming you’d like to live the best and most rewarding Life possible. I mean, isn’t that what we’re all after?

Show up.

Pay attention.

Be Yourself.
