No one is immune to the far-reaching effects of climate collapse, not even those most responsible for its causes. Hotter temperatures, increasingly severe storms, crippling droughts, rising sea levels, species-wide extinctions, drastic food shortages, surging poverty levels, global human displacement, etc. With oil and gas companies continuing to post record-breaking profits, it’s unlikely that shareholders will forgo these ‘short-term’ financial gains over doing what’s morally and ethically right to ensure the ‘long-term’ survival of our species. As fossil fuel production ramps up around the world - when it should be severely curtailed to avert a planetary catastrophe - it’s full-steam ahead regardless of the consequences. The word madness doesn’t come close . . .
