The most rigid social structures - those resistant to change - will, given enough time, disintegrate from within. How much longer can the United States impose its military might on other nations without expecting some blowback against its own citizens? How much longer can we ignore the environmental crisis that threatens the whole of humanity before sea levels rise, destroying coastal cities and crippling entire economies? What are the limits of ignorance on a scale this massive?
